Esquires, where it all begins

I didn't think we'd actually get together this evening but thankfully Prashant and Creighton are a lot more determined than me. After driving around and trying to figure out where to meet we finally decided on Esquires on Jumeirah Beach Road. A nice quiet coffee place with no one to bother us and the smell of freshly brewed coffee was the perfect setting to keep us all awake and focussed.

The evening started off with a show and tell session between Prashant and Creighton. I think they've both done some decent work but there's so much potential for it to be better and if each one is honest about in our critique of other people's work in the group I think we'll all get progressively better. Link to some of our older work coming, stay tuned.

Moving on… so I've nominated myself as project manager today - no surprises here!! Someone needed to get the boys working, while I tried to write up something for this blog.

The aim of this meeting is to get us all doing things we're good at, things we love doing but don't necessarily have 'time' to do during the working week. Since summer's starting and there's not much we can do outdoors it's the perfect time to get together and get creative!

I'm hoping each of us finds inspiration in this group to continue doing what we love and to make time for our passion - be it painting, sketching, cartooning, music, photography, writing, cooking (??!!) - anything and everything. If you've got it flaunt it! Everyone's got some hidden talent, some of us may have already found it and love sharing it while others have not. So let's make this time together a time to give and take. I hope you find inspiration here and become the inspiration for someone for else.

Enough of me rambling…it's been a while since it's written…so bear with me.

Before I forget we're working towards creating a piece of art together based on a theme (which has yet to be decided) on the 30th of April. Keep your diaries free!
